It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert J. Knox. Beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend. He passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Bob, as he was known, was born to Ann and Robert Knox on March 29, 1943, in Evansville, Indiana. He was married to his childhood sweetheart, Carolee Knox (nee Szewczuk), for 46 years until she passed away in 2010. Bob is survived by his loving wife Peggy of 8 years, his sister-in-law Karen (John), son Scott (Lynn), daughter Melanie (Bartlett), daughter Alyson (Shawn), and his stepdaughters, Kim, Lauren (Jeff), and Jacklyn. And his grandchildren Christopher, Jonathan, Ryan and Sean and step grandchildren Natalie, Grace, Matthew, Lucia, Ella and Nolan, and many nieces and nephews.
One of Bob’s greatest accomplishments was his 36-year career in law enforcement with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). In between his two careers, he also graduated from the University of South Florida with a teaching degree in Social Studies and Math.
Bob leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, positivity, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A mass and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
