Raymond Robert Desjarlais, 79, of Stuart, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. He was born on April 13, 1945, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
Ray proudly served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, working as a medical staff sergeant. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to public service as a corrections officer at Noble County Prison in southeastern Ohio. He was also an active member of the VFW.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Loretta (Latraverse) and Leo Desjarlais; his brothers, Arthur, Ernie, and Eugene Desjarlais; and his sister, Jeannine (Desjarlais) Kelly.
He is survived by Cheryl Desjarlais (Thompson), the mother of his two sons, Michael and Shawn Desjarlais; his granddaughter, Kara Desjarlais; his sisters, Annette Desjarlais, Beatrice Choquette, Rena Houle, and Lillian Decelles; and his brother, Paul Desjarlais.
Ray had a passion for golf and enjoyed riding his bike around Stuart. He loved spending time with his family and cheering on the Yankees.
In accordance with his wishes, Ray will be cremated, and his ashes will be scattered at sea.
