Mary Patricia (Pat/Patsy) (Dolan) Morowitz of Boynton Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, April 10th at the age of 83. She was born on February 3, 1940 in Fall River, MA. She grew up in Harbor Terrace.
Patricia had a full life, loving family and friends, and made the very best of every moment. She worked in public service including roles as political organizer, first female Chief Clerk of Cook County, Secretary of the Niles Township Democratic Organization, partner and Vice-President of the “The Coordinators, Inc.” and Niles Township Administrator and CFO, as well as a Delegate Elector for the Democratic National Party in 1975, one of her finest accomplishments.
She also served as volunteer Chair of Township Committee on Youth, Skokie Youth Commission, State of Illinois Advisory Board of Education, League of Women Voters Board, President Hadassah Chapter, Board of Home Owners Association, Volunteer Director of 1st Special Olympics – Chicago, IL, etc.
Pat lived in Chicago for most of her adult life raising a happy family with late husband Donnie and son Joe.
She loved to travel and eventually retired happily by the ocean in Ocean Ridge, FL near her nephew Matt Simonetti and best friend Cathy.
She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas James Dolan and Mary Louise Gilligan.
Pat is survived by her son Joseph David Morowitz and his wife Catherine Sisko Morowitz, and grandson Eli James Morowitz of Columbia Station, OH.
Patsy grew up in a large, eclectic, proudly Irish family and was a sister to; James Dolan, Robert Dolan, Michael Hafey, Nina Hafey, Joseph Hafey, Geralyn Hafey, Elizabeth Yenger, David Hafey, and Linda Hafey and had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her friends are too many to list here most of who became more like family…but you all know how much you were loved and how much you loved her.
In the end, she was happy and witty, and asking for a Diet Coke and a Glass of Wine at the Hospital.
The family would like to thank Cathy, Savannah, Ryan, Amy, Carlos, Tasha and the staff at JFK Medical Center for the care and compassion they showed in her final days.
Interment to follow at sea via the Neptune Society.
