Margaret “Marge” Ziemba formerly of Syracuse, NY, and more recently residing in Houston, TX and Pembroke Pines, FL, passed peacefully on Saturday, June 24th at the age of 94. She was born in Jordan, NY to Sam & Carmela Pucino on January 25, 1929.
Marge graduated from Jordan-Elbridge High School in 1946. She married Joseph Ziemba, in 1956 and moved to Syracuse. She spent the next 44 years with Joe, the love of her life.
Marge stayed at home for 10 years raising their three children, and then was employed by Sears & Roebuck for over 35 years in the Catalog Department. Once retired, she and Joe did some traveling with friends and family. Marge took up golf after retiring, and she and her girlfriends never missed their weekly game. She was also very involved with the Fairmount/Camillus Garden Club and the Bereavement group at Holy Family Church.
She was a very devout Catholic and was a member of Sacred Heart Basilica and Holy Family Catholic Church in Syracuse, then most recently St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Southwest Ranches, Florida.
Marge is survived by her three children: Kathleen (Mark) McMillen of Houston, TX, Joseph (Debbie Johnson) Ziemba of Syracuse, NY, and Diane (Charles) McKinley of Pembroke Pines, FL. She also leaves behind her four grandsons: William and Justin McKinley, Kyle Ziemba and Zachary McMillen, as well as her great-granddaughter Saylah McKinley. She is also survived by her brother Sam Pucino, her sister-in-law Mary Golding and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ziemba, her parents Sam & Carmela Pucino, and brothers Tony and Harry.
At this time, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Southwest Ranches, FL. A Celebration of Life will be held in Syracuse towards the end of September, and details of the arrangements are forthcoming.
We want to thank all our friends and family who have expressed their kind words of condolence and love for Marge. She would always want you to find something to laugh about! She will be greatly missed all.
