Margaret M Heath

Maggie was born on October 2, 1923 in Norwalk, CT to her parents, Michael and Mary Lomazzo. Maggie spent the first 47 years of her life in the Norwalk area where she grew up with her 5 brothers and sisters, married John Gaeta and later Jack Gearin, and gave birth to her four children Dianne, Patty, Scott and Jackie. In 1970 she moved to South Florida, with her two younger children, where she would live for the remainder of her life.

Maggie had a passion and a natural eye for decorating and interior design. In her younger years, she partnered with her brother Michael in a successful interior design business in Connecticut, where they specialized in antiques and high-end second-hand furnishings. Following her move to Florida, Maggie migrated into the floral design business, where she ran her own Florist Shop for several years, as well as being a top designer and store manager for several Buning the Florist stores throughout Broward County. Her love of decorating remained until her last days, continually asking her family to rearrange furniture, pictures and plants that she could no longer move herself.

Maggie spent her golden years living in Fort Lauderdale, where she loved spending time with her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Some who lived local and many who traveled every chance possible to visit. In her free time, she loved playing tennis several times a week, spending time at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club with her husband Victor Heath, playing cards with “the girls” and attending (and sometimes planning) fun and fabulous parties.

Maggie is survived by her brother Michael Richards, children Patty Lockman (Dave), Scott Gaeta (Colleen) and Jackie Kobialko (Ted). Grandchildren Gregory (Susan), Jonathan (Susan), Danielle, Liza (Nick), Renee (Chris), Joshua (Rita), Krystle (BJ), Ashley, Gillian and Nicole. Great grandchildren Kendall, Zoe (Keoni), Sidney (Nick), Nicholas, Caroline, Charlie, Dominic, Gigi, Lia, Brittain and Brantley. Great-great grandchildren include Oliver and Ku’oko’a. She is predeceased by her husband Victor Heath, siblings Rose, Samuel, Angelina and Joseph, daughter Dianne and grandson Jason.
