Born on August 8, 1961, Kevin’s pride and joy were his children and son-in-law — Lilly, Michael, Kyle, Spenser, Austin and his granddaughter Nina and grandson Jaxx. Kevin is also survived by his wife, Kym, brother Jeff and sister Becky and we celebrate his homecoming to heaven and his reunion with Jesus in whom he has eternal life.
Born in Glendale, CA, Kevin lived in both Southern and Northern, CA. He began his career with Hughes Aircraft and worked in several technical positions until he relocated to Toronto, Canada. He worked for his father initially in the garment industry and then went back to his love of electronics and machines. His over 20+ years at Ainsworth were very satisfying and Kevin forged many strong friendships there. Kevin also loved adventures. Camping with his kids, running half and full marathons, snow skiing and diving into the deep blue were among his passions.
In 2021, Kevin relocated to FL and on October 12, 2021 he and Kym were wed. A US citizen, Kevin loved Canada and became a dual citizen in 2023 — and always wanted to stay close to his children. He loved life in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and began embracing morning walks and bike rides. While he was retired, he also enjoyed part-time work at a local hardware and then ride-share service. Kevin’s favorite times were when his kids and granddaughter visited!
Kevin was so very well loved and made immediate connections with everyone he met. His “kevinisms” will live on as will all the memories that he imprinted on us. One of his colleagues said of him: “As a friend, Kevin was someone I could always rely on. He had a gift for making others feel seen, heard and valued. His advice was thoughtful his presence steady and his character deeply rooted in kindness and integrity. He made the ordinary moments feel important.”
We are reminded, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!” We love you and miss you always.
