Ken was the only child born to Charles and Sadye Vincent on July 16th, 1922, in Newark, N.J.. His parents perished on the S.S Yarmouth Castle, on November 13th, 1965. He advocated and had a memorial built in the Pompano Beach City Cemetery for the 91 souls that were lost in the tragedy.
Ken graduated from Bloomfield High School, N.J. and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Duke University and graduated from Columbia University in NY.
He proudly served his country by enlisting in the Coast Guard and the Navy, serving as a Lt. Gunnery Officer in World War II, in the Pacific, and in the Korean War.
Ken was a hardworking, strong, yet a gentle man. He was a great provider and loved being with his children and their families, enjoying telling jokes and his lifetime stories. His other love was to travel, especially on cruise ships, and was fortunate to be able to visit many countries and continents, enjoying the cultures and cuisines.
Ken is survived by his children, Dawn Wainright, Eastpoint, FL, Kim Silva, Parkland, FL, and Mark Vincent, Cedaredge, CO. He is also survived by five grandons, Justin (Rachel) Wainright, Norfolk, VA, Hunter (Samantha) Wainright, Lamont, FL, Matthew Silva, Davie,FL, Kevin and Kenneth Vincent, Great Falls, Montana. Ken also has seven great grandchildren, Jace, Hayes and Zade Wainright, Norfolk, VA, Emma and Naomi Wainright, Lamont, FL, and two grandsons in Great Falls, Montana. He is also survived by his second wife, Jean Vincent.
Services will be held on May17th, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. at South Florida VA National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.
