fight with Alzheimer’s for several years. Born February 21, 1947 in North Miami to John W, Sr,
and Ruby, Johnny was a tenacious man with a fever for life and an unyielding determination for
greatness. Despite his powerful presence, Johnny was as kindhearted and benevolent as he was
stubborn and strong-willed. Throughout his life, he touched the hearts of and made a difference
in the lives of so many individuals, many of whom he adopted into his family. Johnny was truly a
patriarch and a leader, caring deeply for each of those who followed him or were taken under his
wing, consistently prioritizing the well-being of all of those around him. He is survived by his
loving and committed wife of 30 years, Gio, daughter Giovanna, sons Wesley, Raymond and
John (LJ), daughter Wendy, sisters Cindy, and Debbie, and brother David, as well as 5
grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Johnny
will now join his loving brother Ray in heaven who passed a few years before him. Johnny was
the definition of a self-made man, an entrepreneur who founded and ran several successful
businesses in the oil and construction industries. He was passionate about each and every project
he worked on and considered his employees to be a part of his family. His resilience, strength,
kindness, and vigor for life will be remembered always as we will honor his memory forever. The
family wishes to thank his wife, Gio who worked tirelessly together with his committed
caregivers Bertha, Ann and Yudi, who truly went above and beyond their job descriptions,
providing him with the highest quality of care and love throughout the final months of his life. In
addition we would like to extend a special thanks to Pamela Hathaway and Beatriz Buitrago who,
with compassion and love, were able to provide the family with tremendous support and
guidance during this difficult time. They were the family that life gave us the opportunity to
choose. We would also like to thank Trustbridge Palliative Care who coordinated his care and
made the last months of his life peaceful and painless. At this time, Giovanna and Gio wish to
grieve privately and per Johnny’s wishes, a funeral service will not be held. However, a
Celebration of Johnny’s life will be held at a later date, so that we may come together to honor
his memory and remember how he uniquely touched each of our lives. Donations in his memory
