John Chambers Geiger, 95, died of natural causes on March 6, 2019 at a Boynton Beach hospital. He was born on December 6, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Albert Anthony Geiger and Regina Chambers Geiger.
John graduated from Oceanside High School, Class of 1940. Following graduation he enlisted in the US Navy. He served as a Radarman 2C on the USS Sproston DD-577 for United States Navy. He served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After the war, he married Marilyn Schweizer and they settled in Levittown, New York. They enjoyed 46 years of wedding bliss. John was a loyal member of The Tin Can Sailors, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, and The American Legion. He was also a member of the USS Sproston Reunion group, as well as a volunteer at the Veterans Hospital in Northport.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Marilyn (Schweizer) Geiger, and his son, John Geiger. Surviving are his brother Bert Geiger, his daughter, Marilyn Salisbury and her husband Gary Salisbury, seven grandchildren Thomas LaPaglia and (Melissa LaPaglia), Jennifer Peeples and (Shawn Peeples), Theresa Verticchio and (Alex Verticchio), Elizabeth Lamb and (John Lamb), Nicolas LaPaglia, Judy Geiger Walsh, Justine Mantor and (Aaron Mantor), Jessie Geiger, Ashley LaPaglia, Amanda Salisbury, Elaine Simmonelli, and 8 great grandchildren.
A Veterans Memorial Service is to be held at 11 am Friday March 29, 2019 at Calverton National Cemetery, 210 Princeton Boulevard, Calverton, New York 11933.

A Memorial Service will be held in Florida at a later date.
