Ida was born on October 1, 1939 in Dunn, North Carolina to Herman and Irene (nee Surles) Neighbors. Ida graduated from Peace College’s Preparatory School in 1957 and went on to study Business Education at Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) graduating in 1961.
Ida married Larry Williams of Coats in May of 1964. They moved to Augsburg, Germany where Larry was stationed in the United States Army. Upon moving back to the U.S. they lived in North Carolina before moving to Kingsport, Tennessee where their daughter, Susan was born. In 1981 they moved to South Florida eventually settling in Boca Raton where they owned and operated their watch and jewelry repair business for over 25 years.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Irene Neighbors, her sister, Martha Cox, and her brother, George Neighbors.
Ida is survived by her husband, Larry, her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mark Stone, and her three grandchildren, Audrey, Jack and Ava Stone.
Throughout her life, Ida wore many hats. She was a beloved daughter, loving and supporting wife, devoted and wonderful mother, and a fantastic grandmother. She was a true friend and confidant for so many and was known for her wise and sound advice. She cherished being Binky to Audrey, Jack, and Ava. She was always there to cheer them on going to every event she could. She gave them unconditional love and was always available to listen. She will be sorely missed by all that knew her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Mission Bay Clubhouse located at 10555 Diego Drive, Boca Raton, Florida 33428 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
