In loving memory of Frederick George Ake, he passed in his sleep April 24, 2016 at Hillcrest Rehab and Nursing Home in Hollywood FL; where he had been since mid-January of this year. He was born in Washington DC and grew up in College Park, Md. He was athletic in his youth, and served 12 years in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1972. He had many jobs throughout his lifetime from working Rodeos out west, managing a bowling alley in College Park, to captaining a lobster boat off of Turks and Caicos. In addition, he had numerous security guard jobs, the last being at the Dolphin Training Camp in Davie FL before he retired. He was the eldest son of Margaret Alvina Olup-Ake and Frederick James Ake now deceased, and brother to Jon Thomas Ake, now deceased. He is survived by his brother James R. Ake and wife Barbara and their family in Dunkirk MD., his sister Martha A. Wilhelm and her family in Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale FL., his uncle Johnny Olup, cousins and friends along the East Coast, South Florida, Michigan, and Indiana. Fred chose cremation by Neptune Society earlier in his life and for his ashes to be scattered at sea. In closing Fred knew he was loved by his family and friends.
