Frank Cavico was born in Newark, NJ and graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. Degree. He continued his education at St. Mary’s University School of Law, where he received a J.D. Degree. He also possesses a Masters of Law degree from University of San Diego School of Law and a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Drew University.
Frank’s love for the law took him to positions in Washington DC where he worked as a federal government regulatory attorney and as counsel for a labor union; and to South Florida in 1976 where he practiced general civil law and immigration law. Frank went on to teach Business Law at the University of Miami, and became a full-time faculty member at the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship of Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale in 1988. He is the author and co-author of several books and numerous law review and management journal articles.
Frank was so much more than an outstanding scholar and legal expert. He was a wonderful human being with a big heart, a generous spirit, and a genuine desire to help others. Over the years he guided hundreds of doctoral students in their research on ethics, morality, and employment law. He was always willing to share his knowledge, offer thoughtful advice, and help others find their way.
Frank and his wife Nancy, an RN, moved to Lauderdale by the Sea in 1990, settling in Ocean Bay Club. He loved his community, spending mornings swimming in the ocean, and relaxing evenings on his patio overlooking the Intracoastal.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents Rose and Frank Sr. Frank is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nancy (nee Giambattista); brother-in-law Victor Giambattista and his wife Patricia; nieces Victoria Giambattista, Emily (Kyle) Freeman, Jaclyn Giambattista, Daniella Rotella and Gina (Christopher) Castiner; great nieces Lily and Violet, and great nephew Ryan; and many cousins.
