He is survived by his life partner of 51 years, Chuck Poole, his sister-in-law, Sue Cox Carter, his niece Carolyn Carter Bunn and her husband Hal.
He was predeceased by his mother, Gladys Carter Davis, his father Allen Edward Carter,III, his step-father Ernest Jasper Davis, his brother Ed Carter, and his sister Rose Carter Pleasant.
Frank graduated from Hugh Morrison High School in the class of 1955. He received a Business Degree from Kings College, both in Raleigh, North Carolina. He started his career in sales employed by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. He then was hired on at Air Jamaica where he held several positions, including Sales Representative, Sales Manager, Manager of the Reservation Center in Valley Forge, PA, and finally Director of Sales NA. Frank often said that working for a foreign country and their airline was the highlight of his career. He retired from Air Jamaica after 27 years.
Frank and Chuck enjoyed their friends, their dogs, skiing, boating, and traveling the country and the world. He was loved by his family and many friends in Raleigh, Philadelphia, Jamaica, and the Ft Lauderdale area.
Frank chose to be cremated. Arrangements will be handled by The Neptune Society and Kalis-McIntee Funeral and Cremation Center in Wilton Manors.
His remains will be buried next to his mother in Raleigh. There will be a Celebration of his life at his home in Wilton Manors on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
