Dennis Leonard Krause

Dennis “Denny” Leonard Krause of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the age of 71. Dennis was born to Herman and Dorothy Krause on June 18, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. Dennis resided in Plymouth, Michigan for many years, working as a Manufacturing Engineer at General Motors and then as a Regional Director at Schlumberger in Ann Arbor while serving as a proud member of the Fred Hill Briefcase Drill Team, marching in the 82nd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Herman Krause, Jr. Dennis is survived by his wife, Susan Chastain; mother, Dorothy Josefa Krause; daughters Courtney Krause and Ashley Krause; grandchildren Luca Andersen, Sofie Parent and Emilia Parent; siblings Douglas Krause; Debbie (Gregory) Wetsig; Darryl (Denise) Krause; and countless extended family members. The greatest pride and joy of his life were his grandchildren, and Dennis surrounded himself with their photographs and artwork in his final years. Dennis treasured the time he spent talking to his grandson Luca, an aspiring pilot and aviation engineer, about their mutual love of cars. Dennis enjoyed spending his retirement years in Florida walking the beach with his dog Dash. Memorial services will be private.
