On Sunday March 12 at 10:45 AM David Edward Cary returned Home to Spirit

This is a testament of love to my soulmate, partner and best friend. Dave was born in Detroit, Michigan, May 15, 1948. We were married 47 years. It was a healthy marriage. Dave was my rock, a shoulder and he loved me and his family fiercely.

When he received the diagnosis of Primary Progressive Aphasia in 2018, we did not put into place trips to see the world, but trips to see family. He made sure we arranged what I needed after he was gone.

That was the kind of man he was, a "devoted family man."

His values and words were impeccable, his reasoning sound and his love was endless. He was a man secure in himself and was a demonstration of how healthy masculinity expressed. He was spiritually awake and guided by his own inner light. He was not tied to any creed nor dogma but to the indivisible Divine Love that imbues us all.

He loved his University of Michigan, where he spent 7 years obtaining his undergraduate and Law degrees. His favorite movie was The Big Chill because it showed a scene of Bo Schembechler and Woody Hayes arguing over a call at a Michigan game. His favorite music was whatever his son Steve played and of course Motown.

His last two trips, one to Maui, where I am so grateful our son Steve accompanied us on that trip , and the last visit was to our daughter Jill in New Hampshire to watch our grandson Matthew graduate high school was exactly where and how he wanted to spend his time.

This disease was hard to notice at first, for he was quiet and reserved but his intelligence, his cognition, his reasoning was taken away from him, leaving him with a body that was strong but a mind that was not in alignment. This being the season of Lent, he has now let go of his material body and returned to the Light.

A Celebration of Life Service for Dave will be held on Saturday May 6 at Unity of Fort Pierce at 10 Am, followed by a luncheon. This will be a celebration of love, an appreciation of a life well lived.
