Charles Joseph Monteforte, Jr “Chuck” of Pompano Beach, FL passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the age of 84. He was surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born in October 1940 in Everett, MA where he grew up as the oldest of seven children of the late Charles J Monteforte, Sr and Margaret Monteforte and son-in-law of the late Samuel and Margaret Cirino.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Mary, his children Cheryl & Tom DiLeo, Sharon Greco, Greg & Lisa Monteforte, Raymond & Michele Patrick, Charles III & Tara Monteforte and Karin & Peter Cestaro, his 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Marjorie Hubert, Carol Galliford, Michael Monteforte, Paul & Donna Monteforte and Paulette & Steve Henry. Brother-in-law to Robert & Maryanne Cirino, Margaret O’Keefe, Ann Marie Bolster and Dorothy & Richard Costanza. He is predeceased by his sister Louise Vitale, brother-in law Rich Vitale, brother-in-law Charles Hubert, brother-in-law James Gallilford, in-laws Rita & Albert Cody and James O’Keefe. In addition, he will be missed by the many friends and associates he has made in both Everett and Pompano Beach.
He graduated from Everett Vocational High School, studied at Wentworth Institute of Technology and was a skilled tradesman. He proudly served in The Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1957-1965 as a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 182nd Infantry Unit and rose to the rank of Sargeant. Chuck retired in 1991after a long career in civil service with the City of Everett, Public Works Department.
Chuck was actively involved in coaching youth sports programs including Everett Youth Hockey teams from 1972-1985. He was a devout Catholic and served as a Grand Knight, 3rd Degree, with the John A Hill Council #4955 of the Knights of Columbus.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life which will be held in Massachusetts at a date to be determined.
