

Cecil Andrew Eden McKay, Jr., affectionately known as Junior, Jucks, and Short Crutch, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the age of 86.
Born on October 30, 1939, in Belize City, Belize, Central America, Junior was one of eight children and grew up surrounded by the love and energy of five brothers and two sisters. He attended St. John’s Primary School and later Belize Technical College, where he pursued studies in Engineering. A man of determination and enterprise, Junior owned and operated a successful trucking business in Brooklyn, New York, for many years. He later made Florida his home, serving as Receiving Manager at Williams Island until his retirement in 2011.
Junior was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from time spent with loved ones. He enjoyed a good game of checkers, the excitement of the casino, and the simple pleasure of sharing stories, laughter, and companionship with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil McKay Sr. and Inez Eugenia Rosado McKay; his sister, Orlean Barker; and his brothers, Joel, Edward, Norman, and Karl McKay. He is survived by his brother, Phillip McKay, and his sister, Margaret McKay.
Junior is survived by his former wife, Amy Yvonne McKay; his children, Maureen, Andrew, and Gail; his grandchildren, Brandon, Jeneia, Christian, Kamrie, Jade, Joniece, Jyllian, Kristopher, and Cecilia; and his great grandchildren, Daniel, Olivia, Asley Chanel and Mia. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews whose lives were touched by his kindness, generosity, and steady presence.
Junior had a way of turning ordinary moments into unforgettable memories. A master storyteller and the life of every gathering, he filled rooms with laughter, jokes, and his unmistakably bold yet welcoming greetings. His presence lifted spirits; his humor stitched people together. Junior’s legacy of love, dedication, and generosity endures in the hearts of his family and all who were blessed to know him.
