Carol was born in Waltham, Massachusetts to Dorothy and Edwin Beck. She had four siblings Beverly Tasker, Ed Beck, George Beck (deceased), and Marsha Gillespie. She was raised during the Depression years-luckily her parents were employed and her father was also a great fisherman and hunter. Like many of the Greatest Generation she contributed to the World War II effort by performing countless hours with the USO.
In 1952 she married 8th Air Force veteran Louis Albert Marcantonio, Jr of Wayland, Massachusetts. Carol is survived by their four children and their spouses-Stephen (Lynda), John, Linda (Marc), and Louis (Erika), and also Dottie O'brien, her best friend of 70 years. Carol was very proud and supportive of her children and especially their football, soccer and cheerleading programs.
Shortly after their marriage, they relocated to Miami, Florida and within a year built a home on Key Biscayne where they enjoyed the beach and island lifestyle as members of St. Christophers By The Sea and the Key Biscayne Beach and Yacht Clubs. Carol is the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, all living in Florida to her great enjoyment.
Carol lived a full life traveling to the Bahamas, California national parks, New England, Paris, and even was courageous enough at the age of 70 to go on a seven day River rafting trip down the Grand Canyon.
She moved to Jupiter, Florida in recent years and lived independently, doing her crossword puzzles, exercising daily, enjoying her love of reading, staying involved in her apartment community and engaging in current and political events. Carol celebrated her 95th birthday on Christmas Day and passed away peacefully on New Year’s Day. She will be greatly missed by all.
