Basilia Nancy Orbegozo

Nancy Martinez Orbegozo lived a rich life, filled with love and family, to the age of 72. Nancy was the beloved wife of Alfredo; mother of Debbie, David, Angie and Andrea; grandmother of Jack, Isabella, Ava, Aiden and Elsa; sister to Lydia, Jose and Maria; and mother-in-law to Chris and Sander. She was the center of her family, the ultimate hostess who’s door was always open to all for holidays and celebrations. Cuban by birth and New Yorker by heart, she loved her family, cooking, baking, dancing, gardening and baseball, most especially her beloved Yankees. Her favorite movie was Pride & Prejudice; her favorite music, Salsa and The Eagles; her favorite snacks, Maria galletas and mangos; her favorite baseball player, Derek Jeter; her favorite places, the beach and her garden; and her favorite flower was really any beautiful flower. She became an animal lover later in life when yet another part of her heart opened up, and she loved the many rescued pets in her family, especially her adopted stray ‘Kitty’. She constantly worried about her loved ones and was happiest when they were together. Her strong character, feisty will and loving heart are memories that will pull us through this terrible loss.
