Barry, born in Montreal, Quebec, was a dual citizen of Canada and the USA as his mother hailed from Brooklyn, NY.
He was a beautiful soul who, without pause, would extend a helping hand to anyone with compassion and grace.
His generosity knew no bounds: You could call him anytime and he’d answer no matter day or night. From an early age, a phone was attached to his ears!
As an organ donor, Barry was also generous in death.
Golfing with his buddies every day, weather permitting, was a passion that he pursued until his heart could no longer support his climb of the bunkers.
Under the pen name Allan Barrie, he wrote a fictitious novel based on his early years. The excitement of being published prompted him to write two sequels. In his later years, he wrote three other fictional stories. Somewhere in his laptop, there are more stories in process.
Barry was a loving husband in countless ways; wanting to share travels with his wife, they embarked on two world cruises.
He lived a fulfilled and vibrant life. Barry will be in our hearts and memories forever.
Barry is survived by his wife Cynthia Namit Marks, his daughter Natanya Sokol, and his brother Mel Marks.
He was predeceased by his son Norman Marks; parents, Irving (Ted) and Kate Marks; brothers Karl and Norman Marks.
A Celebration of Life will be held at DuBois Park, Jupiter Inlet, beside his son Norman’s memorial bench on Friday, May 16 at 11 AM. A memorial lunch will follow at the Golden Pavilion in Jupiter.
