Born in Akron, Ohio, Barbara was always interested in sports. In her youth, she was an avid softball
player, later turning her interest in sports into water skiing and tennis. Barbara earned a Master’s degree in education and taught middle school civics and high school American history. She eventually ventured into entrepreneurship being an owner/operator of an International House of Pancakes where she ran a very successful restaurant in Dania, Florida. She was a passionate woman who traveled to six continents, almost exclusively on cruise ships. Her true love was the sea. She also had many interests. An avid Miami Dolphins and Florida State fan since 1969, she would always be in front of her TV whenever the Miami Dolphins played, rooting for them, win or lose. She also enjoyed going to the theater, a good book, needlepoint, or working on a jigsaw puzzle. And she would always save the best for last..dessert. Barbara had quite a sweet tooth. She was a sweet woman who will be greatly missed.
