Arlene Frances Shapiro

She loved the things that brought her joy—

Mahjong, whether she was teaching it or playing it, was definitely “her thang”. She was fond of a good cruise, especially a Mahjong cruise, where she could combine two of her favorite things. She had a special affinity for Great Danes, and good food.

She was a huge fan of Google trivia sessions with her youngest daughter, Stacy and from time to time, paired with tasty libations, the two of them could spend hours querying, discussing and challenging the mysteries of the world while enjoying each other's company.

She had a wicked sense of humor and a personality that could make people laugh when they least expected it. She was loved deeply by her family and friends and will be remembered for her humor, her passions, her stories, and all the little things that made her uniquely her.

She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie and Stacy, her grandson Jake, and her two beloved four-legged children, Woody and Lola.

From NJ to Texas, Illinois to Long Island and last but not least Georgia to Florida, she touched so many lives and will be missed more than words can say, but her laughter, her spirit, and her wonderful sense of humor, will live on in all who knew and loved her.

Services will be this Saturday, August 29, 2026 9a-12p at Palm Beach Synagogue, 120 N. County Road, 120 N County Rd, Palm Beach, FL 33480

Memorial service / Celebration of Life will be held at The Shapiro Residence, 172 Greentree Circle, Jupiter, FL 33458 Saturday September 5, and Sunday September 6 from 11a – 4p.
