Antonio Luis Lopez

It is with great sadness that the family of Antonio Luis Lopez, known to friends as “Tony“ announces his passing after a long battle with cancer, on Thursday May 2, 2019, at the age of 70 in his home in Port St. Lucie FL, surrounded by his family and friends.

Born in Matanzas, Cuba his parents moved them to Miami Florida at the age of 13. While honing his skills as a fundraiser he met his wife Sandy in the early 80’s. They settled in Covington, LA where they created a very profitable and well known fundraising company that worked with many of the local sheriffs, first responders, animal rescue, battered women shelters and many more deserving, less fortunate children at holiday time. Hurricane Katrina changed their lives and they were displaced to Port St. Lucie FL.

He is survived by his mother Liduvina Quesada Lopez and wife Sandra Lopez. Four blended children: Annette “Mimi” Mendez-Carney (Niki), Barbara Babin (Brian) and their mother Irma Lopez, James Burgos Sr. (Mary Dawn), Lisa Burgos (Bobby). A sister Ana Moreno (Carlos), three brothers: Luis Lopez (Liz), Jonathan Lopez and David Lopez (Elizabeth). Ten grandchildren: James Burgos (Stephanie), Brooklyn Mendez (Heather), David Mendez II, Vincent Burgos, Nikki Burgos, Sterling Griffin (Serena), Eddie Griffin, Becky Wallace (Matthew), Brady Babin and Brandon Babin. Five great grandchildren: Valentina and Viviana Burgos, Judea Wallace, Alexis and Adrian Antigua. Four nephews: Carlos (Cristina), Javier (Christy), and Alex (Karina) Moreno, Ace Lopez. Two nieces: Adnil and Angelina Lopez as well as many cousins and close family friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Luis Lopez, granddaughters Dulce Milagros Lopez and Nelida “Cookie” Burgos.

A Celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 1st, at 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., at their home, 713 SE Autumn Terrace, Port St. Lucie, FL 34983.

He will always be in our hearts & minds and forever missed.
