Alexander Joseph Abruzzo (Al) of Juno Beach Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at the age of 90. He was born on May 11, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York. He enjoyed his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren while they were growing up. He loved the beach, boating and fishing which made his retirement to Florida just perfect. He was a man until the end who never complained about himself and his ailments and was always there to help anyone in need. He also had a dry sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. He lived a full life but will be greatly missed.
Al is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Jane Abruzzo as well as his parents, Alessi and Assunta Abruzzo, brothers, Lawrence and Martin Abruzzo and sister Christine Rispoli. He is survived by his children, daughter, Teresa Honohan and her husband, Daniel Honohan, and son, Thomas Abruzzo. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Daniel Honohan and his wife, Ashley Honohan, Dylan Honohan and his fiancé, Briana Zielinski (great grandson, Lucas Brian Honohan), Krystal Honohan and Shayla Honohan.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass to celebrate Al’s life on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at St. Kilian Parish, 485 Conklin Street, Farmingdale, New York at 11:00 am followed by a service at the Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York which will include a Navy Veteran’s salute.
