

He is survived by his wife of 22 years Deborah Sperber Paulmann; and his former wife of 27 years Janet Perla Czajkowski, and their two daughters Tracy, and her husband James Knochen, and Amanda and her husband Josh Gelfand; as well as his sister Barbara Schoen, He also leaves behind beloved grandchildren Gram Gelfand, Tess Gelfand, Zachary Knochen, Matthew Knochen, Christian Knochen, Brianna Knochen, Jordan Knochen, Tristan Knochen; his nieces Brianne Sperber, Brittany Sperber and Lily Sperber, one nephew Eric Mittleman, and precious Fur children Max and Joey Perla.
Alan was born August 8,1944 to Victor and Lillian (Brown) Perla, and grew up in the Bronx area of New York. In later years he lived in Westchester County, NY, and then moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2009, and ultimately to Boynton Beach, FL in 2020.
Throughout his life Alan had several successful careers in Commercial Real Estate, Electrical Contracting and Home Remodeling and Construction. His true passions were baseball, cars, animals, landscaping and garden design, and traveling. He loved history, and greatly enjoyed friendly political debates. He was a compassionate and generous man, a true and treasured friend, a great listener and easy to talk to. The wealth of his many friendships (many life-long) were well seen by how people were always drawn to him, his kindness and sweet demeanor.
His love of family was his greatest true love. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed by many.
A Memorial Celebration of Life Remembrance will take place on ZOOM, Sept. 15th, 2022 7pm EST, 4pm PST.
