

Yolanda Lina Ortiz , 74, of Frisco, Texas went to be with the Lord our Father on Friday, November 6, 2020. She was born August 6, 1946 in Alice, Texas to Raul & Minerva Ortiz from Orange Grove, Texas. She was affectionately known as Lina by friends and family.
Lina was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was passionately devoted to her Catholic faith. Early in life she taught CCD classes. Eventually she turned to helping others as an active member of Stephen Ministries.
As a professional, she dedicated upwards of 42 years to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). She was instrumental to the Southwest Region’s cultural diversity Mentoring Program, with special emphasis to the National Hispanic Coalition for Federal Aviation Employees (NHCFAE). She was one of the original members of the Southwest Region Diversity Workgroups and contributed to the team nomination in the first AXO National Honorary Awards Program. She was instrumental and proud to be associated in the establishment of the DFW Chapter of the NHCFAE.
She was delighted in her retirement as a grandmother, a consultant with Mary Kay, enjoyed sewing and making her favorite salsa recipe. At 68, she was blessed as a recipient of a double lung transplant. Her remaining years were spent devoted to the joys in her life, her Faith, Family & Friends.
Lina is survived by her companion Tom Dorman and 3 children. Daughter, Traci Alley (David); and their family, Brennan Villarreal and Colton Moore; Daughter, Laura Turner (Collier); and their children, Austin and Sydney; and son Mark Villarreal (Santa); and their family, Emily Villarreal, Christal Solis Cunningham (Marc) and Colbey Solis (Nayeli). Her grandchildren always in her heart were her pride and joy. She was the proud voice at any of their sporting events and this will forever be treasured memories.
Lina is also survived by her younger sister, Janie Ortiz and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Raul Ortiz, Jr.
Funeral Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3713 Harwood Rd in Bedford, TX 76021 Monday, November 23, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Any flower deliveries will be received at the church between 8:00 a.m. 9:30 a.m. the day of service. Guest will be required to wear mask at all times. Inurnment will be private.
