With Heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mother And Grandmother on February 15, 2025. While surrounded by her family; comfortably in her home, which was located In Greenville Texas. Virginia was a caring, beautiful soul, and always dedicated to her girls and grandchildren. Virginia was born on December 04, 1939 in Norristown Pennsylvania.
Throughout Virginia’s life she had many trials and tribulations, but that did not seem to stop her. Virginia conquered every one of these challenges with a full heart and determination. In Virginia’s early adulthood, she married the love of her life; A brave and Proud Navy man, Stanley Odell Tackett, on March 4th, 1961, in Folkston Georgia. Virginia and Stan had 5 beautiful children. One of the hardest challenges Virginia wast ever faced with, was saying goodbye to her husband during several deployments, and moving frequently around the country, to accommodate the Navy’s needs. In 1977 Virginia took the time and dedication to accomplish a lifelong goal of graduating High School at Edmonds Community College, located in Lynnwood Washington. She had a tough time acquiring the diploma, however she did it, she did it for herself and to be a great role model for her daughters. She also had to witness 2 of her children’s passing young in life, which any mother should never have to bear, but that did not stop her as she kept them close and dear to her heart, and kept the family going.
Virginia is preceded in death by her Father, Franklin Benjamin Houston; Mother, Ida Mae Ruckstool,; Son,Stanley O’Dell Tackett II, and Daughter, Karen Anna Tackett.
She is survived by her daughters; Brenda Gonzalez, Maggie Low (Ray Low), Hannah Slater (Rick Slater); grandchildren; Brandy Stiffler, Erika Blackburn (Charles Blackburn), Ryan Tackett, Brittany Yovanov (Michael Yovanov), Scarlet Urusouyung. Great grandchildren; Kyra, Deacon, Peytience, Kio, Eddie, Sebastion.
While Virginia was always surrounded by her family, she was full of passion and really grabbed life by the horns, Where she continued to pursue her passions and hobbies. Virginia loved to embroidery, and sew clothes for her young girls throughout the years. She won several ribbons from showing and breeding Dutch rabbits. To joining Toast Masters and become a phenomenal public speaker. Her second love was her fur babies (cats) gave her so much joy, love and company. While her children grew up and moved out of their childhood home.
Our family will love and miss her deeply, but we all know that she wanted us to know she lived a full life, loved all of us, and that she will be with God and our passed family members. We will love and Miss her terribly, All of us will continue her life, love and legacy.
