He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sherry Scott; his sister, Sue Heston; his son, Erik Scott, and his wife, Amy; his daughter, Shelby Scott, and her wife, Brandi; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Beyond his professional life, Stan and Sherry shared a deep love of the open road. For several years they embraced the RV lifestyle, exploring the country together with a particular fondness for the mountains — Grand Lake, Colorado holding a special place in their hearts. He was also an avid golfer who treasured every round spent on the course with his son and dear friends. He was a fierce political advocate, a poet of quiet originality, and a man whose command of history made every conversation richer. Those who knew him will carry forward the memory of his warm wit, his storytelling, and his genuine delight in the company of others.
