Shirley Jane Crawford Noack was born February 25, 1935 in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away gracefully Wednesday, May 30, 2018 in Plano, Texas. She recently celebrated her 58th wedding anniversary with her beloved husband, Donald Noack.
Shirley was a woman of quiet, subdued elegance who would light up when seeing an old friend again, or when meeting a potential new friend. Shirley and Donald were destined to be together, having grown up in the same neighborhood and never being too far removed, but she did not date him until Halloween 1957. Three years later they married in Port Arthur, Texas. She spent many years with Garland Independent School District, but her favorite (though sometimes frustrating) job was as a mother to Mark, Scott and Debbie.
Proving her resourcefulness, Shirley secretly stashed away a little money every year so that she could surprise Don for their 25th anniversary with a trip to Germany. Proving her elegance, she even invited Don’s sister Ellie to join them for this trip. This turned out to be the first of several cherished vacations to Europe, all of which fostered many treasured memories.
Shirley joins her mother and father, and is survived by husband Donald; her children Mark, Scott and Debbie; grandchildren Stephanie, Jake, Paige and Haley; and sister Shary.
