Roger was born May 22, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Melvin R. Krueger and Florence M. (Schroll) Krueger, the oldest of two sons. He leaves behind his wife of nine wonderful years, Marcia Sue (Lines) Krueger. They married at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Dallas, Texas, on June 13, 2009.
Roger was a loving father of two sons: James Krueger (his wife Sharon), Arlington, Texas, and Raymond Krueger, Tyler, Texas. He also leaves behind three granddaughters: Tiffany (Krueger) Martin (Matthew), Royse City, Texas; Megan (Krueger) Sturles (Mason), Fate, Texas, and Katherine Krueger, Tyler, Texas. Additionally, he is survived by three great grandchildren: McKinley Martin, Olivia Krueger Fortriede, and Michael Raymond Krueger. Other survivors include Marcia's children, Richard Bearden and Rebecca Wimberly.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, his brother, Ronald William Krueger, and daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Baade) Krueger.
Following high school graduation, in Delavan, Wisconsin, he married Betty Jean Smith, in 1955, and settled in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. He began a career in tool and die, leading him to becoming a manufacturing engineering manager, at Modine Manufacturing, in Racine, Wisconsin. Eventually, the family relocated to Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1973, where he was manufacturing engineering manager, at Allis-Chalmers. He then built his own tool and die company, Texoma Tool and Die Company, merging with Custom Metal Services, in 1978. They employed over 100 employees, and he became a partner with Ken Webb. Their services were cutting edge for the time, supporting the local national industries in the area. They specialized in tool and die and sheet metal fabrication and design. He and Mr. Webb were recognized as Small Business Persons of the Year, in 1993. He retired, in 1997, and moved to Athens, Greece, for two years. He returned to Texas, coming out of retirement with Custom Metal Services, for years. He then became a partner with Richard Grant, at Consolidated Castings, in Hutchins, Texas, in 2005, and retiring in 2009. Roger began artistic painting, and traveling the world with Marcia. He piloted his boat through the international waterway to Florida from Galveston Bay, beginning in Corpus Christi, inspiring many paintings from the adventure. He and Marcia enjoyed playing pickle ball several times a week, across the United States and Europe. He played three games in the morning before suffering a stroke. He piloted his Cessna for several years. On his 80th birthday, Roger, his sons, and grandsons-in-law celebrated with a tandem sky dive together.
Roger embraced life, always eager to learn more. He never met a stranger, always curious about those he met around the world. He worked multiple crossword puzzles daily, and followed Jeopardy, and professional golf and tennis.
