Bobbie (as she was always known) was born on August 16, 1930, to Ian and Sophie Robertson in Chicago, IL. Growing up, she was a Girl Scout, a member of the Honor Society, and the president of her high school Girls’ Athletic Association. She attended Grinnell College, where she met Donald Norvet from Forest City, IA, whom she married on July 3, 1949. Bobbie and Don raised four children while living in multiple cities, including Forest City, IA; Atlanta, GA; Champaign, IL; and Tampa, FL. She started her family’s long traditions of telling each other, “I love you,” at the end of communal prayers and reading The Littlest Angel each Christmas Eve. Bobbie loved socializing with friends, golfing, and working on crafts, especially painting. After Don passed away in 1986, she worked as a real estate agent in Tampa. In 1989, she married Daniel Krieger, and, in 1992, the couple relocated to Franklin, TN, to be close to family. While in TN, she made cherished friends, hosted book club gatherings, and was an active member at the Church of the Advent, where she served in the vestry. Bobbie enjoyed traveling with her family—especially to the Triangle X Ranch in Moose, WY; to Rosemary Beach, FL; to Sedona, AZ; and on a Disney cruise in the Caribbean—and gathering everyone for her annual Christmas party. A few years after Dan passed away in 2007, Bobbie moved to the Fountains of Franklin senior living community. At the Fountains, she socialized with friends, used her adept card skills, attended book club meetings, and drove her bright red convertible around town. She always enjoyed spending time with her friends and was especially proud of her family.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, Ian and Sophie Robertson; her sister, Susie Bradford; her husbands, Don Norvet and Dan Krieger; her daughters, Laura Fleming and Linda Bartlett; and her son-in-law John Bartlett.
Bobbie is survived by her sons, Michael Norvet (Debbie) and Dennis Norvet (Dinah); her son-in-law Dick Fleming (Sarah); her niece, Kathy Garrett; her 12 grandchildren; and her 14 (and counting) great-grandchildren.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11 am (CT) at the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Nashville, TN, with a light reception following.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrf.org).
