Robert Colbey Clayton

Robert Colbey Clayton, a cherished son, brother, and friend, peacefully departed from this world on August 14, 2026, at the age of 58, in the comfort of his home. Born on December 25, 1967, in Berkeley, California, Robert was a true gift to all who knew him, beloved for his warmth, generosity, and indomitable spirit.

The son of Skip and Helen Clayton, Robert was raised in a home filled with love and laughter. He was the proud brother to his sisters, Naomi Sifert, Debbie Cates, and brother-in-Law Lane Cates and a caring uncle to Amanda Cates, Brody Cates and sister-in-law Katherine Cates. His memory will be forever cherished by his Great Nieces Jenna, Aslinn Lily and Great Nephew Jeron, who have shared with him many of life's adventures.

Robert's work ethic was unmatched, dedicating 32 years of his life to the open roads as a truck driver. His career saw him cover over 6 million miles, a testament to his dedication and passion for his work. In addition to trucking, Robert spent time working in construction and as a heavy wrecker driver, always demonstrating resilience and skill in his endeavors.

In his free time, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid fan of interactive gaming on his Playstation, where he could often be found challenging friends and family in friendly competition. His adventurous spirit led him to the great outdoors, where he loved going camping and mudding on his ATV, embracing the thrill and freedom of nature.

Robert was known far and wide for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He had an unparalleled ability to tell captivating stories, particularly those involving his trucking escapades, leaving his listeners both entertained and inspired. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, always ready with a compliment to uplift someone's day or a helping hand for those in need. His love for rock and roll was as vibrant as his personality, often providing the soundtrack to his life.

As we remember Robert, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. His legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
