Col. Michael I Wheeler USAF Ret, passed away September 18, 2016 in Dallas, TX after a long battle with cancer.
A decorated Air Force veteran, Col. Wheeler served his country honorably in Vietnam. He was one of the first Air Force officers to complete Army Ranger School. After retiring from the Air Force he went on to work as a civilian in Somalia, Qatar and Iraq.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents; Lt Col Claude I Wheeler USAF Ret and his mother, Dorothy Fern Schmidt Wheeler as well as his son, Kevin Hadley.
Survivors are his wife, Estelle W Wheeler; sons, Stuart I Wheeler, Lance Wheeler and wife Amanda Wheeler; daughter, Kyle K Wheeler; brother, Tim Wheeler; sister-in-law, Martha A Wheeler; 4 grandchildren; other family and many friends.
Inurnment to take place at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date.
