Lori was born on January 12, 1930, in Oregon. She also carried the surname Richards, which she adopted from her stepfather. Some of her fondest childhood memories were of growing up on the fox farm, a place that remained a meaningful part of her memories throughout her life. She attended Catholic school as a young girl and carried those early experiences with her throughout the years.
Lori's love of Boston terriers began when she was a little girl and remained a lifelong affection. There was always a special place in her heart for these spirited little companions. Her last Boston terrier, Molly, was her faithful companion and stayed by her side through the final chapter of her life. And when Lori's journey in this world came to an end, Molly followed her beyond the mortal plane into the great beyond.
Lori also had a creative spirit and loved working with her hands. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and knitting, creating things that reflected the patience, care, and creativity she brought to the things she loved.
A lover of travel and adventure, Lori enjoyed visiting national parks and experiencing the beauty of the places she encountered along the way. She treasured the memories made through those journeys and the opportunity to see and experience the natural beauty of the country.
Lori was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Warren Featherer, and her son, James Andrew Featherer.
She is survived by her daughter, Chrissy Knight, and her granddaughter, Dakota Featherer.
Lori lived 96 years, spanning nearly a century of remarkable change. Her life was filled with family, animals, creativity, travel, and countless memories that will continue to be cherished by those who knew and loved her.
Her life cannot be captured completely in an obituary. It lives on in the stories her family remembers, in the things she created with her own hands, in the places she traveled, in the animals she loved, and in the generations of family who carry her memory forward.
Lori has now completed her earthly journey. She is reunited with those who went before her, with Molly once again at her side, and has crossed beyond the mortal plane into whatever great adventure awaits her.
