Lorraine Heather Halbe

Born in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Lorraine taught French before meeting David Halbe, an American serviceman on leave from the Vietnam War. They married in June 1969, and Lorraine courageously left her homeland to begin a new life in the United States. Together they lived in Missouri, Colorado, and Texas while raising their family.

Lorraine was a devoted mother and homemaker who placed her family and her Christian faith above all else. She made sure her children were raised in church and gave them the greatest gift she could—teaching them to know and love Jesus Christ. She loved singing, playing the piano, sewing, and caring for those she loved.

Known for her strong convictions and outspoken personality, Lorraine was a proud Republican. She never hesitated to stand up for what she believed and always spoke her mind with honesty and conviction.

In her later years, Lorraine found love again with Bob Abbott, whose companionship brought her great happiness. Their relationship was a beautiful reminder that love can blossom at any stage of life.

Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Donald George Jose and Joyce Heather Jose; her brother, Brendon Jose; and Bob Abbott.

She is survived by her brother, Barry Jose and his wife, Chris; her son, Douglas Clifton Wood; her daughters, Lynda Heather Halbe and Barbara Christine Moore and her husband, Tim; and her beloved grandsons, Justice and Caden Moore.

Lorraine will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her strength, her courage, her fierce love for her family, and her willingness to stand firmly for what she believed. Her life touched many, and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
