IN MEMORY – Loretta June Points Stromberg. June 12, 1937 to February 19, 2017 Loretta June Points Stromberg, 79, of Little Elm, Texas, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017. She was born on June 12, 1937 in Keokuk, Iowa, to the late Lyman “Bud” and Mary Virginia (Jones) Points Loretta was a graduate of Glendale High School in California. She married Eric Michael Stromberg in California, December 26, 1956. They lived in many cities across the country as Eric was in the Air Force. Loretta raised 2 children and excelled in a career as a Sales Manager for 25 years at Pacific Bell Directory where she was promoted as the first female sales manager in the company. In her 60’s she retired from Pacific Bell Directory after 30 years of service, she joined Microsoft and worked her way from an entry level “temp” position to a Director’s position and honored by the Women in Technology International (WITI) for her work. Of the MANY interests that Loretta had, she loved to read and was proud to let her family know she had just finished 5 or so books in a month! Loretta was an avid tweeter and had over 1,400 followers and followed over 1,900 tweeters. Her platform on Twitter was “positive quotes”. Among her many accomplishments, Loretta sang in night clubs and at the Hollywood Bowl, played catcher on a semi-pro baseball team and could hit and run with the best souped up car engines with her brother and participated in amateur drag races, and excelled in anything that she set her mind on. If you wanted a rousing discussion with Loretta, just bring up politics and then take the opposing viewpoint! She also wrote a manuscript called “Living in Love” based on her experiences of her life. Loretta was not only Catholic but a practitioner of Eastern Religion, meditated daily and was a member of a large worldwide daily prayer group – praying for more than 100 people a day. The greatest joy of her life was her 2-great grand-daughters Addisyn Klaire and Sullivan Kate Stromberg whose lives she was dedicated to enrich. Loretta was preceded in her passing by her sister, Judith Kelsey, 3 brother-in-law’s, Richard Croisdale, Marshall Neibert and James Taggart. She is survived by her 4 sisters, her brother and their spouses; Patricia (Randall) Lyall of Lake Elizabeth, California, Mary Croisdale of Louisville, Kentucky, Cindy (James) Schneider of La Cresenta, California, Hazel McClara of Little Elm, Texas, Richard Points of St Michaels, Maryland; numerous very dear nieces and nephews; her 2 children and their spouses, Marc (Caroline) Stromberg of Roseville, California, Tamara (John) Fischer of Chandler, Arizona; 2 grandchildren, Jason (Keeley) Stromberg of Frisco, Texas and Jennifer (Michael) Wilde of Peoria, Arizona; 2 great grandchildren Addisyn and Sullivan Stromberg of Frisco, Texas. A celebration of life will be held by her family on June 3rd, 2017 in San Diego, near in date to what would have been Loretta’s 80th birthday.
