Linda Sue Woods

July 29, 1940 – July 21, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Linda Sue Woods (Justice).

Linda was born on July 29, 1940, in Greensburg, Kansas. Raised during the years surrounding World War II, her family later moved to Seattle, Washington, where she spent much of her childhood. From humble beginnings, Linda became the first woman in her family to graduate from college, earning her degree from the University of Washington. While there, she was an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority and met the love of her life, Mike Woods. The two shared more than 60 wonderful years of marriage. After graduation, Linda worked at Boeing while Mike completed graduate school, helping build the foundation for the life they would create together.

Linda and Mike raised two children, Chris and Lisa, and she embraced motherhood with boundless energy and devotion. She was the kind of parent who never stood on the sidelines. Whether serving as the perpetual room mother, organizing school activities, running a neighborhood tennis league, supporting local animal shelters, or volunteering wherever help was needed, Linda naturally stepped into leadership roles. She had a lifelong love for dogs and opened both her heart and home to many beloved pets over the years. In the end she noted her love for the days she spent on the beach in San Clemente with her children and their friends who called her "Mom".

After Chris and Lisa left for college, Linda began a successful career in banking, eventually retiring as Loan Manager at Riverside County Federal Credit Union. Yet her greatest professional accomplishments were matched by her extraordinary commitment to public service and civic engagement.

While living in Temecula, California, Linda became a driving force in Republican grassroots politics. She served as President of the Temecula Valley Republican Women's Club, founded additional Republican organizations, recruited speakers and community leaders, raised funds for candidates, and worked tirelessly to elect public servants she believed would strengthen the country. Linda was a true patriot. Her dedication earned numerous awards, commendations, and honors—including the extraordinary recognition of an official Linda Woods Day in Temecula.

Linda also championed educational scholarships, mentored young women seeking membership in Kappa Delta, and took great pride in her work supporting The Blue Star Memorial honoring America's veterans. Intelligent, articulate, and genuinely engaging, Linda possessed a rare ability to connect with people from every walk of life. She could light up a room with conversation, inspire others to action, and make everyone feel welcome. Rather than seeking elected office herself, she devoted her life to helping others succeed, believing that meaningful change began with dedicated people working together at the grassroots level.

After retiring, Linda and Mike made their home in Frisco, Texas, where they built cherished friendships, continued serving their community, traveled together, and enjoyed the next chapter of their lives. In recent years, one of Linda's greatest joys was playing Mahjong with her dear friends.

Linda's greatest legacy, however, was not measured by awards or titles, but by the lives she touched. She believed deeply in service, in family, Faith, and in love of country. She gave generously of her time, her talents, and her heart, always striving to leave her community better than she found it and to build a brighter future for her children and grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband Mike, her children Chris and Lisa, brother Bob, her grandchildren Allegra, Elijah, Connor, Lanie and her grand dog Sunny.
