Linda Mae Schnyder

June 22, 1944 – June 1, 2026
Obituary of Linda Mae Schnyder
Linda Potts Schnyder, 81, of Allen, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, with her cherished and devoted husband, Herbert Schnyder, by her side.

Linda was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania on June 22, 1944 to June and Edward S. Potts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and June Potts, and her sister Syletta Noecker. She attended Blue Mountain High School in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, in 1987.

After a short courtship, Linda knew she wanted to marry her beloved husband Herbert (“Herb”) Schnyder. They were married on August 12, 1983.

Linda is survived by her husband Herbert, her two daughters and their spouses, Denise and Mike Bowers, Vicki and Allan Alfeo; grandchildren Anthony Joseph (“AJ”) Alfeo and Allison Alfeo; and her brother Edward I Potts and his wife Isis Salazar.

Linda enjoyed a long and accomplished career in telecommunications. She began at Contel Corporation in Wentzville, Missouri where she held various roles in Engineering Support, including draftperson – both manual and computer aided – and technical writer. She was later recruited by Ericsson and moved to Plano, Texas where she advanced from technical writer to roles in Engineering Management and Product Management. During her time at Ericsson, she and her husband, Herb, had the opportunity to live in Sweden for four years, first in Karlstad and later in Stockholm. Upon her retirement from Ericsson, Linda and Herb moved to Royse City, Texas, before eventually making their home in Allen, Texas.

Linda was a woman of many passions. She especially enjoyed traveling. While living in Sweden, she and Herb traveled extensively throughout Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, and even attended the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer Norway. She was deeply devoted to her grandchildren, Allison and AJ Alfeo. Together with Herb, she took them on road trips across the United States, creating lasting memories. She also had a love for sewing, a talent she passed down to her granddaughter, Allison, sharing not only her skill but also special moments spent together.

There are no services planned at this time. Those who knew and loved Linda are encouraged to celebrate her in their own personal way. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Michael J Fox Foundation.
