Born on June 2, 1946, in Mayfield, Kentucky, Larry dedicated his life to his family, his faith, and his country. He served honorably in the United States Army for 15 years, bravely fighting in the Vietnam War before being medically retired in 1979. His unwavering patriotism and service to his country were a source of great pride for him and his loved ones.
Larry was a man of many passions. A die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, he rarely missed a game and was always ready to defend his team with enthusiasm. An avid bowler, he accomplished an incredible feat—eight perfect 300 games throughout his bowling career. His love for the outdoors led him to many peaceful days spent bass fishing and bird hunting. He also enjoyed the thrill of the casino, with slot machines being one of his favorite pastimes.
One of Larry’s greatest joys was his passion for coin collecting. He always had an eye out for rare and unique pieces, and his collection was something he treasured deeply. He loved sharing his knowledge of coins with family and friends, always eager to talk about his latest find.
More than anything, Larry was a man of kindness, warmth, and deep compassion. He never met a stranger, and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone made him unforgettable to those who crossed his path.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 50 years, Susan Lee; his children, Jennifer Cisneros (Travis), Stephen Lee (Angela), and Jason Lee; his beloved grandchildren, Andrew Cisneros (Cameron), Brian Lee, Tyler Cisneros, Dylan Lee, Cole Cisneros, Alyssa Lee, Izabella Lee, Kaitlynn Lee, and Ethan Lee; and his great-grandson, Ezra Cisneros. He is also survived by his siblings, Betty Washam, Walter Lee (Beverly Carol), Patricia Pyle (Maurice), Danny Lee (Deana), Brenda Rasmussen (Albert), Vanda Hixon, Beverly Lee, Wanda Denton (Jackie), Weda Strickler, and Stella Johnson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Hafford Clifton Lee and Armra Elizabeth Lee; his beloved son, Brian Allen Lee; his brother, Charles Lee; and his sister, Debra Lee.
Although his visits to church became less frequent, his faith never wavered. A baptized Christian, Larry held a steadfast belief in the Lord throughout his life.
Larry’s presence brought light to the lives of so many. His laughter, stories, and unwavering love will forever be remembered by those who were lucky enough to know him.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Friday, April 4th, at 11:00 AM at Preston Trail Community Church, 8055 Independence Pkwy, Frisco, Texas, 75035.
Flower donations will be accepted by the church the day before and the morning of the service.
