Born on April 25, 1941, Julian dedicated his life as an activist for the Farm Workers Union and an activist for Cesar Chavez. He was involved in rallies such as "Si Se Puede" empowering voting rights for Farm Workers.
On January 19, 1959, he married the love of his life, Celia D Barreras, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Julian's kindness, devotion, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Julian loved gardening, music and wood work. He loved nature and long walks. Reading and observing the stars and planets with his telescope. He was always up with current events in the world and was not afraid to voice his opinion. He was very involved in his community such as being involved in The Housing Authority and School Board for Anthony Texas. He was a volunteer Firefighter and always ready to help his community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Trinidad Barreras Sr and Maria Louisa Barreras; his brothers, Manuel Barreras, Trinidad Barreras Jr; sister Adela Barreras.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 66 years,Celia D Barreras; sister Rosa Barreras, his children,Grace Barreras Weger, Julie Ann Barreras Silva, Terri Lynn Barreras, Michael Julian Barreras, Trinidad Barreras III. and eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
