

Mike was born in Wichita, Kansas on August 6, 1940, to John and Anna Dodson. He grew up in Oak Cliff, Texas and graduated from Sunset High School where he enjoyed baseball, music, and singing in his band. Mike was in contact with many of his high school buddies throughout his life.
He attended the University of Texas before he joined the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at Loring AFB in Caribou, Maine and in Turkey during the Vietnam War.
Mike was a natural salesman with his friendly, outgoing personality. He retired from his sales career after many years of leading a successful sales team in the business forms industry.
Mike loved traveling, especially to destinations where there was a warm sandy beach. His favorites were Turks and Caicos and Southern California. He will be remembered as the life of the party with his famous martinis, fun sense of humor, and endless supply of entertaining stories. His biggest love though, was spending time with his family.
He could always be found on the golf course or the driving range. He loved the outdoors and the comradery of a foursome.
He had a unique gift for home design and art. He designed and built his dream home at his favorite place, Hideaway Lake, Texas. He was always improving any space he lived in. Mike was a lifelong collector of many forms of art. His collection was always tastefully displayed in his beautiful home. Mike expressed himself through poetry, sketches, and drawings.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Dodson and his granddaughter Jordan Dodson. He is survived by his three children, Craig Dodson (Tiffanie) and their children, Jacob and Jillian Dodson, Karen Iantuono (Ted) and their children, Alex and Annie Iantuono, Ashlee Kaeppel (David) and their child Ava Kaeppel, and many family members, cousins, and friends.
Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 25, 2024, at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:00p.m.
