Dorothy was a loving and thoughtful mother, grandmother, and friend. She lived an incredibly full life and travelled from coast to coast and many states in between. She’s lived in New York, California, Oklahoma, Arizona, and Texas. One of her favorite places on this Earth was Hermosa Beach, California. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her friends, spending time with family, collecting coins, going to church, and reading novels.
Dorothy is survived by her son Arthur Latus and his wife Loretta, son Aaron Butler and his wife Jill, daughter Courtney Butler-Golden and her husband Granvel Golden Junior. She is survived by four grandchildren, Jordan Latus, Connor Latus, Granvel Golden, III (Trey), and Jocelyn Butler. She is also survived by her step-father, Wayne LaCasse of Apache Junction, AZ and one brother, Vincent Joyce, of Grand Junction, CO as well as many cherished cousins and other relatives.
Preceding her in death were both her mother, Josephine LaCasse, and her father Stanley Haske, as well as her brother Stanley Haske, II.
Her children lovingly cared for her in the last 10 years of her life when Dorothy faced obstacle after obstacle with her health starting in 2008. We find peace in knowing that she is now young, vibrant, whole, and pain free in our Heavenly Father’s arms.
Dorothy was a private woman and has requested no public service to be held. In lieu of that, make a toast to her, say a prayer, and most importantly live your life to the fullest because each day we have here on Earth is a gift and there is no guarantee that we will get to see a tomorrow.
