Donald Dean Smith

Donald “Don” Dean Smith, was born on July 15, 1945, in Cleveland, Texas and passed away on August 17, 2025 at the age of 80. He lived most of his life in Carrollton, Texas, and was a pilot and avid virtual aviator. He owned a Harley and enjoyed scuba diving. Don lived a life filled with joy, laughter, and friendship. Though he worked hard when needed, he believed life was meant to be enjoyed. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.

His easy-going nature and warm smile brought people together. And he will be remembered for the fun, kindness, and love he shared through out his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dian (Swehla) of 37 years, and their adorable dog, “Emmett”, who was his faithful companion, and his sister, Jacqueline Smith. Don was proceeded in death by his parents, L.D. and Audry Jasper Smith.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Don’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all that were lucky to know him.
