Don Brookins was born in Athens Texas October 4, 1954 and departed this life on July 31, 2025. He graduated From Dunbar High School in Ft Worth Texas, Baylor University in Waco Texas and Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas Texas.
He married his wife Alisa in 1983 and together they had four children. Don lived his life grounded in logic, purpose, and service. As a father, he poured his heart into raising his four children — Whitney Daniels, Edward Brookins, Connor Brookins, and Kennedy Bradley — with wisdom, laughter, and endless love. He was fiercely proud of each of them and never missed a chance to remind them of it.
Professionally, Don dedicated himself to the art and science of dentistry, treating each patient not just with care, but with genuine kindness. He believed in doing things the right way — not just for the sake of the smile, but for the whole person behind it.
Don also served honorably as a Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve, a commitment that reflected his deep sense of duty and responsibility. Though he never sought the spotlight, he carried his service with quiet pride, and it was woven into the fabric of who he was.
At home, Don found joy in the simple things — a watching sports, a family gathering full of laughter, and the faithful companionship of his dog, Willie "Nelson" Brookins, who never left his side.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents and older brother Sam, who surely welcomed him with open arms. Though his absence leaves an ache that cannot be filled, his legacy lives on in the strength of his family, the integrity of his work, and the many lives he touched simply by being himself.
