Deborah Lee Garrett, affectionately known as Debbie to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2025, in Princeton, Texas, after a short illness. Born on April 18, 1955, in Oklahoma, Debbie's warmth and vivacity brought light and love to all who knew her throughout her 69 years of life.
Debbie's early years were spent in the heartland of Oklahoma, where she cultivated a life marked by service and dedication. Her commitment to her country was evident through her honorable service in the United States Air Force, a period of her life that shaped her enduring values of discipline and compassion. Debbie continued her commitment to service by working as a Dental Hygienist with the Department of Veteran Affairs. Her dedication to the well-being of veterans was not just a job but a calling, and she performed her duties with the utmost care and compassion.
Debbie's interests and passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. An animal lover at heart, she found joy in the company of her pets and any creature in need of care. Her hobbies included fishing, where she found peace and solitude on the water and of course the thrill of the catch. Her love for reading allowed her to explore places beyond her own. Sewing was yet another skill she had, creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished by her family for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Steven Garrett, and her cherished granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brogren. Debbie's legacy lives on through her children, daughter Dace Castillo (John) and her son Shawn McPeters (Melissa), and her adored granddaughters, Autumn Brogren and Avalyn Brogren.
Services for Debbie will be held at a later date.
