Cynthia Louise Sims

Cynthia “Cindy” Meeks Hyman Sims passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, following a long journey with dementia. Throughout her life, Cindy was defined by her deep compassion for people, musical talent, and selfless service.

Born on May 20, 1951, in Camden, Arkansas, to the late Dwight Shelton Meeks and Doris Seal Garner, Cindy brought joy to everyone around her from the very beginning. Her early love of music was sparked by her older sister, Devona, and quickly grew into a lifelong passion.

Her talent blossomed in the Fairview High School Band program, where she played saxophone. Her dedication earned her All-Region and All-State honors, as well as top medalist recognition throughout her school years. One of her proudest achievements was receiving the John Philip Sousa Award during her senior year. Alongside her musical pursuits, she was also a majorette and was honored to be named FFA Sweetheart her sophomore year. Her musical gifts followed her throughout her life; she frequently played the piano and served as the church organist for a time at Hillside Baptist Church.

After starting her family early, Cindy began a successful corporate career. She spent many years as a Senior Purchasing Agent at Lockheed Martin, earning widespread respect for her sharp business acumen. Over the years, her versatility and drive led her to accounting, process engineering, and property management across Arkansas, Missouri, Indiana, and Illinois.

Above all, Cindy’s work was guided by her love for people but her greatest desire was to be near her family. While managing an assisted living facility, she found fulfillment in caring for the residents. The passion for helping others eventually led her to become co-owner and operator of The Hearing Place, where she dedicated herself to assist patients with hearing impairments. Never one to stop growing, Cindy continued to embrace new challenges into her later years, strengthening her computer skills and learning e-commerce before retirement.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by: her husband, Fred Sims; her brother, Mark Meeks; her sister-in-law, Kim Meeks; her brother-in-law, Jimmy Wilson; and her sister-in-law, Patricia Meeks.

She is survived by her son, Sean Hyman (Lisa); her daughter, Dawn Moulder (Keith), all of McKinney, TX; her stepdaughter, Marcia Malone (Craig) of San Antonio, TX; her stepdaughter, Terry Hoch of Burleson, TX; her stepdaughter, Cheryl Rankin of Christopher, IL; her stepson, Daryl Sims of Royalton, IL; her sister, Devona Wilson of Camden, AR; and her brother, Mike Meeks of Pearland, TX. She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren: Shane Hyman, Zachary Hyman, Brittany Upton (Seth), Seth King, Jake Moulder (Kassidy), and Aiden Moulder; seven great-grandchildren; a host of step-grandchildren; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Settlers Ridge Care Center for the extraordinary care they provided to Cindy for over three years.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Believer's Church in Camden, Arkansas. A Celebration of Life service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM.

Cindy will forever be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her generous heart, and a caring personality that always put others first.
