It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Carol L Murray, on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at the age 79 surrounded by her immediate family . Carol was born in Waunakee, Wisconsin on the family farm on 6/6/39 to Norbert and Irene (Keicheiger) Ballweg. Carol married Gary Murray, the love of her life, on August 8, 1959 and enjoyed many years of happiness.
After marriage, Carol and Gary lived in Sioux City , Iowa, before moves to Shawnee Mission, Kansas and then to both Northern and Southern California. Carol worked in the medical field for many years, working in a doctor’s office in Salinas, California then moving to El Centro, California to work for Dr. Haworth. She worked in different areas in the medical office including medical records and receptionist enjoying her work with patients. Upon moving to Danville (San Francisco area) she continued working with Gary in produce sales before returning in July 2003. She then moved North Texas upon Gary’s retirement residing in Flower Mound, Texas for the past 15 years.
She enjoyed traveling which included 48 of the 50 states, trips to Europe, Japan and Australia. Her favorite trips were those where Gary and her could take their time, seeing and admiring the National Parks, the great landscapes and rock formations in the United States. Carol loved her sports from the 49ers (seeing many games when living in the Bay area, to the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers and over the years grew to love the Texas Rangers.
Carol enjoyed working in the garden planting flowers, cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, playing games on the computer. Carol always enjoyed spending time with her family, being very proud of grandchildren and great granddaughter and friends. All who knew her, will remember her quick wit, humor, and her smile and her ability to draw people to her, even in her last days fighting Inclusion Body Myositis. She was our strength and support through the ups and downs of life. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to all.
Carol is survived by her husband, Gary; her two children, Jerry and his wife Margarita Murray and Ellen Murray; her grandchildren, James, Joshua, Sheila and her husband Manny Valdez and their daughter Maya, and Heather and her husband Jeremy Haimes and their children Madalyn, Haley, Estella, Alex, and her siblings, Dan Ballweg, Florine Ring, James and Betty Ballweg, Roger and Rose Ballweg, Donald and Jeanne Ballweg, and William and Jackie Ballweg and many loving nieces and nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Norbert Jr., Sylvia Bernards, Raphael Ballweg, her brother-in-law, Donald Ring and sister-in-law Mabel Ballweg.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church, 1987 W Main St, Lewisville TX, 75067, officiated by Father Raymond McDaniel, followed by A Celebration of life.
