Betty Lou Schulle, 88, of McKinney, TX died at her home on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. A Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church in McKinney, TX. Father Mike Michie will officiate. Interment will follow at a later date in Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene, TX. Born Jan. 25, 1928, in Houston, Harris, TX., she grew up in DeRidder, LA. She met her husband, William H Bledsoe there. They were married Aug. 31, 1946 in Ft. Dix, NJ. They moved to Abilene TX that year where they raised their family. Following Bill’s death in 1984, Betty married Wilburn Schulle on Dec. 20, 1986. She and Will moved to Lake Brownwood about 1990. Following Will’s death in 2002, she moved to McKinney to live with her daughter, Sharon, and her family in 2003. Betty enjoyed sewing, playing the piano, preparing foods from the garden, traveling, and volunteering at the hospital and church office. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and an active member of The Daughters of the King. She is preceded in death by her son, Philip Darnell Bledsoe, her first husband, William Harrison Bledsoe; her parents, Lester Darnell and Lois Lemmon Cooper; a brother, James Hoeting; and her second husband, Wilburn Schulle. Survivors include two daughters, Claire Smith and husband, Jay, of Doole and Sharon Reeves and husband, John, of McKinney; a brother, Ralph A Hoeting and wife, Dorothy, of Pearland; two sister-in-laws, Yvonne Wright and husband, James, of Longview and Mrs. Marjorie Bledsoe of Oakville; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church Building Fund, the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, or the Lupus Foundation of America.
