Betty was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a dedicated servant of her Christian faith. She became a believer in Christ in her early 30s and learned to trust in Him through every season of life, even during challenging times. Her unwavering faith and love for Jesus were evident in her life and her many acts of service.
Most of her life was spent in Boise, Idaho, where she served as a bookkeeper at Cole Community Church for many years. She was also a bookkeeper for Love INC., World Link Ministries, and Robert Morgan Insurance Agency. Betty drove a school bus for several years and even lifeguarded at Quaker Hill Church Camp during multiple summers in McCall, Idaho. In 2005, she left Boise, spending time in Nevada and Florida before moving to Texas in 2007.
Betty was passionate about teaching Bible Studies and Sunday School Classes, serving in women’s ministries, mentoring young women, and maintaining a vibrant prayer ministry that touched countless lives. Her heartfelt desire was to ensure everyone she met knew Jesus, and she was always eager to share the hope of eternal life with others.
Betty’s legacy of faith, love, and service leaves an indelible mark on all who knew her. Though she will be dearly missed, her memory will forever remain in our hearts.
She is survived by her brother Bill Abrell, her six children Diane Stoupa, Shawn Abrell, Michael Chadek and wife Sharon, Billee Mildbrandt and husband Dave, Danelle Shamrell and husband Joe and Glenda Fernandez and husband Manny, her 12 grandchildren; and her 21 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Aarin Shamrell Bermudez and her parents Glenn and Edna.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, at First Baptist Church, Lewisville.
