Anna Weir Cook, 74, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 in Flower Mound, Texas. A Celebration of Ann’s life will be held at Immanuel Bible Church, 2611 Braddock Road, Springfield, VA on Saturday, January 14, 2017, at 11:00 am. Ann was born on August 13, 1942 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Anna Elizabeth and Anthony Douglas. After the death of both parents, Ann moved to San Francisco California with her aunt, where at the age of 18, she was honored to sing with a choir at the 1960 Olympics in Squaw Valley, California. She and her daughter, Karen moved to Northern Virginia in 1971. There, she faithfully worked for the Laborers International Union for 37 years and retired in 2012. Ann loved all things nature, arranging flowers, and the arts, but most of all, she adored her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Peter), her three grandchildren, Jeffrey, Natalie, and Nathan, her sister, Carole, her brother, John (Mary Ann) and many nieces and nephews. If desired, donations can be made in Ann’s name to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
